Two-way dual language programming—currently offered in pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grade at Williams—enables students to develop fluency in both English and Spanish through the equal use of both languages throughout the school day.
Research shows that students who are bilingual, biliterate and bicultural continue on a path of high achievement and graduate ready for college, career and life in a globally competitive economy.
Why Multilingual People have Healthier, More Engaged Brains Educators often focus on the language skills students who are still learning English lack, but bilingualism is a huge neuro-strength. The ability to speak more than one language means a strong, healthy and complex brain.
Participation in this program develops language fluency and prepares students to continue dual language instruction at AISD middle schools.
